I love that ferry ride! You’re right – it’s the perfect length – not too long/not too short and the scenery is lovely. We really need to venture back up there soon (and order gelato too, it seems!)

Mother Pat believes in complete accuracy in all things, especially recipes.Therfore I am going to make some ammendments to the aforementioned recipe with my name on it.
Here’s the “accurate” version cause I don’t believe in winging it.
I got this out of an avocado cookbook many years ago.

2 avocados mashed ( I use potato masher)
4 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped cooking onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chilli powder
1 clove garlic, crushed
Dash tabasco – to taste
1 to 2 tomatoes, depnding on size, chopped. Blanch and skin, or not. Maybe it doesn’t matter
If you want to step up the color, add a bit of green food coloring. Chill in fridge.
Voila!

I have always wanted to check out the yurts at the coast and feel I no longer have an excuse since not to, considering you traveled all the way from B.C. to do so! It’s only a 90 minute drive for me – see? No excuse!

Lisa, the garden looks great! You guys have really outdone yourselves. Retaining wall is quite an accomoplishment as well Randy. I don’t know where you get your energy, but enjoy it while it is available. I can tell you are really enjoying your cottage.
