I don’t know too much about Fred, except that he is 28, lives far away in Maryland and has a great blog. We met through Houseblogs.net, a community of bloggers sharing their adventures in home improvement.
Repair solutions, projects, product reviews and great tips and advice – I find them all on the site he shares with his friend Ethan, One Project Closer.
Lately, Fred has been a bit of a mentor to me. He has advised me on some of the mildly perplexing, technical stuff that I’ve encountered in attempting to improve my site, and has even posted an interview he conducted with me via email. You can find the interview here.
But the best thing…absolutely the best thing about Fred is that he nearly always leaves a friendly comment when he visits. And if you have decided to put yourself out there and share your thoughts and plans with the whole darn world, then a comment – a pleasant one, that is – is a real gift.
Sometimes I will check my blog stats and see that a very specific search criteria such as ‘false ceiling in closet alcove’ has brought someone to the closet-to-alcove post on my site 5 times in one day, and I wonder “What’s the story there?” But they didn’t leave a comment, so I will never know.
So thanks Fred . . . for the advice, the mentoring, the interview and especially your encouraging comments.
Now everyone get out there and leave a comment for your favourite blogger today!
Lisa,
Thanks so much for doing the interview! And thanks for th nice words. Your blog is really great (esp. the picture at the top, which is just wonderful).
Looking forward to stopping by a lot in the future.
Fred
what a cute little house
Thanks for visiting our blog! Reading about all of your finishing touches after working on a house with no finishing touches in sight is very relaxing. I love the colors you choose.
Hello Lisa,
I am Sadia on the quilting forum at About.com.
I popped by in response to your landscaping/quilt post and enroute discovered Fred.
I LOVE your blog…..its crispness, they way you look at life, your beautiful location and delightful cottage…and I love Jane Austen…the Regency etc.
I have renovated 2 previous homes and plan to start on the present one when Summer approaches in the Southern Hemisphere. Winter is reserved for quilting…and mending.
I live in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. I want to thank you for putting me onto Fred and the house blogging site…I’m a novice working on my own……and
THANK YOU for sharing in your blog…I look forward to returning.
Shirley
Hi Shirley.
Good to know you. Thanks for your kind words.
I look forward to exploring your site and hope you will drop by here often.
We actually have a saying in our house -
“I never met a Shirley I didn’t like”
I’ll tell you about it some time.
